hey...how did Laura get the nickname "pickles?"
and if she's Pickles, shouldn't bush's nickname be buddy?

1. i think it was based on the character of the show you're referring to
because she wasn't seen or heard from for quite awhile once she entered the white house. bush talked about her (like buddy did about his wife) but you really never saw her.

from what i remember--that *is* the character the name came from.

I wish I could find the joke he told about the tailor who sold a man an ill-fitting suit.

When the man complained, the tailor had him scrunch up one sleeve with his left hand, tuck the brest of the jacket under his right arm, and hold up the lengthy right pant-leg with his right hand.

As he left the store, two gentlemen walked by - The first man says "would you look at that poor guy, all crippled up"..........and the second man says "yes, but doesn't his suit fit nice"

4. I love that old joke. Have told it many times, it's better as a
visual. I use it to demonstrate when people are going too far to try to save money. In my version the reason he suit fits so badly is that it was tailored for a customer who died before he could pick it up.

3. I did wonder about that...
you never saw or heard from Laura...thought maybe she'd died and they'd buried her in the basement or something.

:tinfoilhat:...then again, she has been the quintessential 'Stepford Wife' since her reappearance,
hasn't she...
Hmmm....:yoiks:

5. The real reason is because Laura was able to convince *
that vinegar and water douches made her taste like pickles.

9. OK - so her name is Laura - the MAIN female character of
that show - but she goes by Pickles, an unseen female character of the same show.
