Former U.S. attorney accused of sex charges

ST. LOUIS | Police have seized several computers, cash amounting to $11,000 and other items from a former federal prosecutor accused of molesting two boys, the Web site for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported today.

STLtoday.com cited court records in the case involving former U.S. Attorney Eric Tolen, who was charged Wednesday. The documents were contained in an application for a search warrant police obtained after an informer alleged Tolen had sexual contact with a boy at his home in Town and Country.

The items, which also included bed sheets and clothes, were seized April 30.

At an initial court appearance Thursday, a judge set a hearing for Tuesday to decide whether Tolen’s $200,000 bond should be reduced.

Both victims in the case are 15, police said. The sexual assaults occurred between June 2004 and April, St. Louis County Detective Michael Williams said in a probable cause statement.
