7. I glanced at the link, didn't really see any 'celebrating.'

Most of the comments were actually pretty factual, observing they were in a stolen vehicle speeding around at 3:30 a.m. I'm sorry for their deaths and injuries but stupidity sometimes results in tragedy.

I understand that mentality in general because I simply don't usually care when a criminal gets killed committing a criminal act. They're putting their lives on the line for a stereo or a car or a wallet or something equally not worth it. Darwin Awards and all that stuff.

However, in this particular case it sounds like most of the kids were too young to have that kind of callous attitude. I mean, dammit, one of them was 12!

Some of them are probably related, too. Damn, this is sad.

certainly would have been pissed if these kids had stolen my car. But good lord the oldest one was 17. Had they been caught before the crash they should have been punished severely, but not executed.

Not knowing more details about the story, it's hard to pass judgement. 17 is old enough to have quite a criminal career.

However, "stolen" in this case can be misleading. Was the driver just a kid out for a joyride with a relative's car? Or did he make a living (or fuel a drug habid) by stealing cars?
