(Is this normal for him to be sending messages through the DSCC?)
George W. Bush doesn't care what you and I think and neither do his friends in Congress.
The American people overwhelmingly want our troops out of Iraq. They want the federal government to take real and immediate action to combat global warming and to significantly expand support for stem cell research.
Democrats almost unanimously support the people's wishes on these crucial issues. Republicans don't.
The rest is just commentary.
Nowhere has Republican obstruction been more blatant and more damaging than in the United States Senate, where they've exploited the narrow 51-49 Democratic majority to try to block all manner of legislation. If we want progress on the issues we care about, we absolutely must expand the Democratic Senate majority in 2008.
The hard road to Election Day victory is already being paved by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). The DSCC needs to raise $500,000 to reach its June 30th quarterly fundraising deadline. This deadline is so important that a group of Democratic senators will match every single dollar you give, effectively doubling your contribution.
As a committed Democrat, the most important action you can take today is to support the DSCC. We couldn't have taken back the Senate in November without the early support of activists like you. Elections can't be won months in advance, but they sure can be lost. Without your support, Democratic Senate candidates simply cannot succeed in the next election.

At the center of the disastrous policies of the past six years is the fact that Republicans place ideology above all else - including facts and reason.
America's strength as a nation, over more than 200 years, has been that we have constantly sought to base decisions on the best evidence available after a full and open debate among people.
That's all changed in the last six years.
Republicans have given us an "Alice in Wonderland" approach to governance. First the verdict, then the trial.
Republicans don't believe global warming is a threat. So they censor the hundreds of government scientists who do.
Republicans think aluminum tubes bought by Saddam have to be for nuclear weapons. So they ignore Energy Department scientists who say it's impossible to use the tubes for nuclear enrichment.
What the climate crisis and Iraq have in common is that in both cases Republican policies were badly mistaken, and in both cases there was overwhelming evidence to convince any reasonable person ahead of time that we should have done the exact opposite of what we did.
But facts often don't end up in Republican policy decisions because they inconveniently interfere with ideological illusions.
Now is the time to finally end it all. The 2006 elections were the first step. Now we need you to lay the groundwork for preserving and expanding the Democratic gains in 2008.
Please, contribute to the DSCC today and a group of Democratic senators will match your contribution.

It is easy to lay the blame for much of what has transpired the last six years at the feet of George W. Bush.
But it's important to remember that he couldn't have done much of his damage without a supine Republican congress. And it’s important for all of us to remember that the very same Republican senators who have failed us so badly in the past are poised to once again be in the majority if they pick up only one seat in the next election.
We can't let that happen.
Sincerely,
Al Gore
