Scooter Libby's never going to jail....
Edited on Tue Jun-12-07 06:47 PM by jaysunb
I have been giddy over the fact that Scooter was going to have to do at least a little time...until today.

Smiling as I read this AP release,http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2007/06/12/prosecutor_wants_libby_imprisoned_now/ the final paragraph completely deflated me.

If Libby's request to remain free is denied, defense attorneys will rush to an appeals court and ask judges there to put the sentence on hold.

It seems innocent enough, but, someone here pointed out a few days ago that the appelate court that would hear this is packed with Bushies. Maybe someone could post the names again, but I tell you, there's a great civics lesson here, on why confirmation of judges at every level is important.

Waltons gonna jail him...the appeals courts gonna walk him....:evilfrown:

1. Yeah, and there won't be HALF the uproar that Paris caused, either

yet there SHOULD be. Talk about "two Americas" -- there's one judicial system for rich or connected people like Scooter and Paris ... and then there's one ... FOR YOU!

2. Sentelle, for one, is on the appellate bench.
He's as partisan as a judge can get.

4. Which is why I was so shocked when he helped Fitz out.

"As for Patrick Fitzgerald, Judge David Sentelle wrote in his appellate opinion, "The District Court expressed its doubt that the DOJ guidelines were enforceable, but found that even if they were, Special Counsel had fully complied with the guidelines."
