Today Show: What Do Scottie Pippin, David Letterman & David Rockefeller Have In Common?
They all got THOUSANDS (sometimes HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS) in Federal Government Farm Subsidies.

Every year they got a check.

Today found 82 Farm Subsidy recipients living in Beverly Hills and more rich and famous living in Manhattan.

Farm subsidies.

Yay Congress!

1. Scottie looks so cute in his Daisy Dukes, though! And pity him--
he has to remove the nose ring when he runs the tractor.

All kidding aside--this is asinine. The small farmer simply cannot survive and 82 Beverly Hills citizens get my tax dollars?!

Yay Congress--and sleazy, lowlife accountants who found this loophole. :puke:

But it looked legit before they started updating the database.
I guess I'll have to wait until after 12 noon....

CA has people living in Beverly Hills, in residential area's getting subsidies.
That's what I wanted to check but it's unaccessable right now. :(

5. Canada files WTO complaint over U.S. farm subsidies
OTTAWA — Canada has gone to the World Trade Organization to fight what it calls harmful American farm subsidies.

International Trade Minister David Emerson has asked a WTO panel to rule on whether U.S. agriculture subsidies breach Washington's own international trade rules.

~

Under WTO rules, the United States can provide its farmers with up to $19.1-billion annually in trade-distorting subsidies.

Canada maintains that the Bush administration has gone well beyond those levels.
