G8 in death throes under Shrub's clownishness. Like other institutions.

Remember Campaign 2000, when "gravitas" or the lack thereof in Shrub was the buzzword? Little did we think what an actual pall his lack would cast on his own and the U.S.'s leadership.

Since Shrub only has one more G8 to go, there probably won't be time to cancel them just to let him have a fratboy farewell. Shrub's legacy might well be that he has destroyed more institutions previously thought to be sacrosanct than anybody else, truly revolutionary: Treaties (Kyotyo). The United Nations -- naming PURPOSELY HOSTILE U.S. ambassadors there, and cynically using it as a shell game for the opposite of its core value, for unprovoked war. The Geneva Conventions FOR ZEUS's SAKE!!1

His string-pullers have engineered more free passes for him since RAYGUN. From the outset, comedians at the Correspondents Dinner were intimidated against joking about him. Then HIS own embarrassing clowning ("I'm looking for the WMD") has brought calls for ending that and the other press burlesque shows. Not like when sL-IMUS was free to draw and quarter the CLINTONs. Really, it's not farfetched to think that G8 leaders might say, "Let's not do this anymore, at least while Shrub is there. If the Unwashed see these are just in-your-face PARTIES for Caligula-types, it's ALL OVER for all of us." The Wizard's curtain and all that.

So, the pictures coming from the G8 yearly have Shrub groping a head of state, slouching and apparently boozing it up, flaunting breaches of protocol (otherwise known as common courtesy), making faces, and just plain showing what a LACK OF RESPECT he has for anything and anybody.

He has opened our eyes. We used to think that "leadership", by individuals and countries, had gravitas and respect as NECESSARY.

1. "I thought you were going to ask about the pig!"
He treats G8 like it's summer camp. It's so embarrassing. Especially disgusting was the video of him eating with his mouth open, smacking his lips, while discussing weighty matters with Blair in his own inimitable shallow way.

2. President Wayne.
I always cringe when it's announced this parody of a president is going out in public. He is why attics were invented.

Hopefully, we can send him to the attic in the Hague in due time.

3. Boy did he make an ass out of himself this time.
The man is drinking and now in public. He knows he's supposed to be a dry alcoholic and he's doing this in your face as of late. Coming to work drunk and drinking on the job will get anyone else fired. It's time to fire him.

If Congress doesn't indict him for the tortures and murders from torture in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, cleary in violation of the Geneva conventions and part of our national law, then at least we should be able to fire him under the provision in the Constitution that Congress can remove a sitting President who has become too mentally incompetent or ill to do the job.

6. In the minute I saw his latest performance, he spilled his beer
all over the table and probably all over the German leader. That was enough for me.

7. G8 will have to stop meeting with so much publicity as the people

get more and more tired of enduring the consequences of corporatist rule.

Junior is just their mascot. Eventually, they will have to meet in a bunker which will spoil the whole public aspect of this self indulgent display of power.

Idiots.
