The 7 yo asked me who are the evil guys, the Democrats or the Republicans, I just laughed and said "G.W. Bush is a Republican" and he just sorta gave me a knowing look and a nod.

I told them to ask their grandfather about Nixon. They'll learn more about him that way than I can tell them.

send them to me. I used to have a dartboard with nixon's face on it.

However, I am going to say that the current administration has made me assess Nixon with a less jaundiced eye. His foreign policy didn't get anywhere near the Bush administration's fiasco.

2. Yeah. The current ** just makes me so sick to my stomach. I am trying to explain to

my guys why it is Republican policies are not good for people, but they are awfully little for this to really make sense to them.

4. 7 and 9, both boys and both very smart but still young enough that

life is black and white. Hence the "who are the bad guys" question. LOL

They do grow out of that. Sooner or later. Sometimes, the more intelligent they are, the longer it takes. In truly gifted children, the emotional age doesn't keep up with the intellectual age. It's sometimes like speaking to a 5 year old and a rocket scientist who somehow inhabit the same body.

Disconcerting.

Keep working at it, however..........it's necessary.

6. Yes, I have known my fair share of geniuses like that. I think my guys will come along but

they are getting influenced by a family that is half conservative XN, and that's a force to be reckoned with.
