An Inconvenient Truth: Mr. Gore You HAVE to run in 2008

Dear President Gore: (I call you that because you did win in 2000)

There is much abuzz about whether you will or won't run in 2008. Mr. Gore, I don't care if you WANT to run or don't want to run. Mr. Gore you HAVE to run. Your country needs you. Sometimes in life you have to do something not because it's easiest or most convenient and not because it's best for you personally. You do it because the greater good necessitates such a course of action. Mr. Gore I'd crawl on one leg across America licking the dirt off the sidewalks if my personal inconvenience could undo all the harm the Busheviks have inflicted on America over the past 6 years.

Mr. Gore, you are the person best suited to rescue us from the assaults on reason, our Constitution, our environment, our security, and our domestic infrastructure perpetrated on us by the Busheviks and their allies. You have more experience and wisdom to be President than every other candidate of either party has combined.

The time to step up to the plate is fast approaching. I EXPECT you to deliver.

.................

Actually stopping terrorism, restoring America's credibility, rebuilding our military, recreating a pro middle class economy, protecting our environment, bringing learning back to our education system, preserving our Constitution, remedying health care atrocities, and stopping the threat of global warming are difficult tasks, tasks far more inconvenient than giving a few speeches and spending quality time with the grandchildren. But Mr. Gore, this isn't about you personally, it's about America. I know you'll step up to the front. Millions of people, myself included, we've got your back.

Yours truly,

Dave From Queens

2. Well there it is. Nobody would want to dissapoint Dave From Queens
I mean Gore is really on the hook now - some one not only expects him to run, the EXPECT him to deliver.

What eerie power does Dave From Queens possess that he can force Gore to run whether Gore Wants to run or not. Let's just hope he uses this power for good and not for evil.

12. What eerie power does Dave from Queens possess?
Maybe none for all I know. But I do know he's got a few million allies who are thinking the same way!

3. Run, Al, run!
I want him as much as or more than anyone else, but we can't ORDER him to run. We can beg, cajole, implore, plead, convince -- but we can't order.

I'm definitely not too proud to beg!

13. Yes diluting it
this stupid draft al gore crap is a distraction and it detracts from the real race, diluting our message. If you really want to lose to the repukes, then continuing to chase after Gore is precisely what you should do. If, on the other hand, you want to win, try joining a real candidate (eg not Kucinich).

10. What a selfish arrogant letter
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 09:41 PM by RestoreGore
You want to have his back, get off your own and do something besides the pathetic begging of a man who is already working his butt off for this country and world. He doesn't HAVE TO DO anything but what he is doing, and his fantastic work now has done much around the world to start the ball rolling on a movement he could NEVER have begun from the confines of that BS beltway. He has done more than "Dave from Queens" I would expect, and is now asking US to step up to that plate.

And after serving this country well for over a QUARTER OF A CENTURY, if giving these speeches, these presentations, writing these books, making movies, being a teacher, a statesman, an environmental advocate, a businessman, a catalyst for change, and a man who still cares deeply for this planet who wants to spend quality time with his grandchildren is what he truly wishes to do, then sorry, "Dave from Queens" but you are one selfish arrogant person to tell him he HAS to go through that *shit* again. So easy to do when it isn't you, isn't it?

11. mehmehmehmehmeh. Peeppeeppeeppeeppeep.
You remind me of that song "I don't know how to love him", only it goes something more like: "I'm the only one who loves him."

14. Ignored due to redundancy and something else being way MORE important
Global warming is occurring three times faster than WORST estimates. I then say that people in this world, especially in this country and China better get their heads out of their butts and wake up. One letter, one election in this country, nor one person alone is NOT going to stop the cataclysm awaiting this planet if PEOPLE don't get together NOW, because as scientists predict THIS IS GETTING WORSE and it will the longer we sit and "chat" and "beg." It is obvious so many in this country still do not understand the TRUE urgency of what we face. This is no damn game. So whoever you were that more than likely responded with the same snarky BS, get off my back already. Al Gore knows what it is all about and is facing it the most effective way and the way it MUST be faced and I then say whether you want to or not YOU MUST TOO. If you aren't willing to support this planet and get serious NOW besides only using this as an excuse to write fuzzy love letters, then YOU (* in general) will be an accomplice to any catastrophes that happen along with this government that is complicit in the continuing murder of this planet. So you go ahead and respond again with more snarky BS, because in the scheme of things it doesn't matter to me AT ALL.
