11. Hey
Jimmy Buffet is a redeeming value of the Big Easy.

And the recent crime spree(s) in New Orleans and the correponding key stone cops response(s) make Boston's day seem like a day in the park.

12. jesus talk about losing your sense of humor and inflating your sense of
importance to mammoth proportions.

lighten up no doubt. i guess instead of admitting they are so inept they cant distinguish a joke from terrorism they have to prosecute the jokesters as ... terrorists.

14. Boston didn't panic
Most folks went on about their business, unless stuck in traffic. The media freaked out, not your average Bostonian. People here just let the cops do their jobs. The endless slams and taunts against Boston and Bostonians today is disgusting. We are probably the most liberal state in the country. The ONLY place where same sex couples can get married and still people can't help but act like internet assholes.

It is offensive so YOU lighten the hell up.

Next time a hurricane misses you I'll be sure to remind you what chickenshit pansies you all are when the news covers people preparing for it.

BTW: I've endured several hurricanes since living in Florida. Are you comparing this incident to a Cat 4 Hurricane?

24. I'm comparing it to a missed hurricane
My state/city reacted to something they weren't sure was benign. They acted in such a way as to try and keep the city safe. Yet this board has done nothing all day but insult the city.... a city of Democrats, a State of Democrats.

Yet some choose the side of TURNER BROADCASTING!

Black is white, up is down, left is right...........

25. Not the side of Turner Broadcasting...
You misread. There are more than two sides here. Turner hired a subcontractor who hired some Boston locals for an ad campaign (artists to promote a cartoon - I think the minimum of corporate stink in that equation). They create commercial art - no different than the gypsy signs advertising palm reading on every median in Christendom.

The police wayyyyyy overreacted, or at least they did an incredibly lousy job of communicating to the media. The media acted like the competitive 24-hour blood-sucking scum they have become by pouncing on a no-event and blowing it up into headline news and scaring the bejesus out of the locals (which, I am sure, the local politicians just LOVE, since it PROVES that they are tough on terrorism. Or cartooons. Whatever. We take electronics very seriously.

Don't blame Boston. And Bostonians shouldn't feel that they have to apologize for anything but the IQ's of a few who obviously didn't make it to MIT. This coulda happened anywhere. Except, I guess, in Austin, where enough bored Adult Swim addicts got the reference.

Blaming TimeWarner here is kinda funny - media sensationalism over media advertising that got over-hyped. What the hell? The advertising campaign was mildly clever. Or at least more clever than the guy who first mistook a Lite Brite for a threat.

and I'm sure you're right about most people going about their business, we go through this all the time in D.C., and for the most part, there is no panic, mostly annoyance.

26. My first reaction was to compliment the police, etc. on their quick
response in Boston. I'm in Florida too, in the county where Ann can't find an election booth.
Boston shouldn't apologize for anything, they should be complimented on their response, if it was for real, it would appear they were pretty well prepared.
