Texas principal invokes double-secret probation over beach ball incident
A handful of Dripping Springs High School seniors will be called back into the principal's office for cheering and bouncing beach balls above their heads during their graduation ceremony Friday at the Shoreline Center in Austin.

Their behavior, said Principal Greg Jung, was unacceptable.

Jung held on to diplomas for the entire 200-student graduating class for two days while district staff reviewed video of the ceremony in an effort to identify the pranksters. Jung said he expected to release diplomas for students not involved today or Friday.

"They were specifically told about their behavior. They were told what the expectations were," Jung said. "This is no different than any other year."

I'm no Nostradamus, but I predict Principal Dicknose is going to be cleaning a lot of toilet paper out of his trees this summer.

2. The diplomas are just pieces of paper.
Colleges already have the high school transcripts and have made decisions on who's going to attend.

4. So instead
of the grads remembering how much fun and exciting graduation was, their last memory of HS will be of what an "a**hole" principal they had.

6. We had a guy who couldn't get his diploma without writing an apology to the school
He didn't show up for graduation practice because he was too hung over. It's kind of silly, but what can you do?

by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity."

9. This brings back memories of my own graduation
When Dana Thompson streaked the ceremony (it was 1974 and in vogue). Funny story, the principal had her tracked down and killed. Wait, no, he didn't... because he wasn't that huge an asshole!

That's what happened at my graduation ceremony in HS. What's the big deal if they do it?

However, I think that the punishment is way too much.

13. Shoreline CHRISTIAN Center
I am more concerned abou the site of the graduation. What the hell is a public school doing having their graduation ceremonies at
a mega christian center????
http://www.shorelineonline.com/

This is totally inappropriate if not unconstitutional.

I am surprised that the article did not mention this.
