Regarding This TB Dude.....
I have looked for a thread on this, but not seeing one.

The talking head medicine men on tee vee (Dr. Gupta on CNN and others) keep saying that he is not that contagious. If so, then why is it non-stop leading story news. They guy is in quarantine by order of the pResident. This guy was on a number of flights.
Not only does this expose many people to TB, but every person that they encounter.

I am overly concerned?

3. nothing much else happening in the news
so they use the tb story..according to people on npr he`s carrying a evolving gene of a form of tb and they are worried that this new gene is resistant to anything treatment we have. they have to figure out what he has and how virulent it really is. he was ordered quarantined because unless an order is issued, they can not force him into medical treatment.

yes you are overly concerned

4. TB in contained spaces like Airplanes
can be a problem. I would be concerned if I was on one of the flights he was on, but otherswise its not that worrysome for the general populace. It is a little worrysome that he does have this nasty resistant strain as well, because of the amount of people who were on the planes with him, but again outside of the planes the transmission rate is low. That and the fact that it seems this guy knowingy defied a quarantine order made it news. But yes our fear loving MSM is making much more out of this than it really is.

5. Why does bin Laden bother to hide? Big deal for the no-fly list?
We're getting conflicting info, released staccato-fashion. IMHO since the guy's wife & family don't have TB after being around him so long, he's probably not highly contagious, whatever the hell that means. Is he infectious?

Watching the CDC blame the victim is typical. It took them weeks to determine what type of TB he had, and I don't find it hard to believe that they "recommended" he not fly, but didn't make a forceful case for that. Still, in spite of his European wedding it should have dawned on him that even regular TB is a danger to everyone around him. I don't want to judge - the system should have stopped him.

And in the superlative tradition of American journalism, last night when I surfed past "Goofball", Tweety's resident expert on the security response of our medical & DHS bureaucrats was - wait for it: Heckuvajob Brownie. Good grief. :applause:
