I looked that company up in a government contracting database, and I found that it is indeed the contracted shredding company of the Secret Service:

Why does the National Archives need to shred stuff, aren't they supposed to be saving stuff for future generations?

In fact the majority of records do not require permanent retention - requisitions, routine purchase orders, tax returns, daily reports summarized in other reports. The important point is that the records series be analyzed,appraised and that a approved disposition schedule is developed, implemented and followed.
