If I see one more "DRAFT DEAN" or "KUCINICH IS GOD" post
in GD or GDP I'm going to punch all the soy on the planet.

Seriously, these people think a primary challenge for Obama will pull the party leftwards. What it will do is severely weaken him against any GOP opponents and make him ripe for a loss. They don't get it. They seem to WANT the Republicans back in power. They really do.

1. They definitely don't want this particular president in power...
I'm thinking I'm about done here. It's really pretty useless. You can't have any constructive conversation or discussion. The board is pretty open right now. I have started visiting smaller blogs and find that my head doesn't hurt after reading. It's truly sickening. I see a post with darn near 300 recs from a known Obama hater, praising the board for their 'anger' etc.

General support for THIS president isn't a requirement. There is a post in GDP now debating whether or not the president's mother would have died under the proposed HRC plan. Give me a break. I can got to freeper-ville for that kind of mess.

This poor post is going down fast:

I'm out for a while.

Happy Holidays everyone. Peace!

2. Everywhere, I'm seeing snarky bullshit like HAY GUYS WHAT WILL OBUMMER USE
FOR HIS NEXT CAMPAIGN SLOGAN?!?!

It's like they believe that if it's not sweeping, immediate change, it's a failure and we should be ashamed. They do want everything immediately and don't seem to realize that we have four years to do it, not just one. Part of that, as distasteful as the Purity Brigade may find it, is keeping a Democratic majority in Congress so that we have a better chance of getting the things we want.

3. They are mean bullies, cowards, and don't have the power they think they have.
And this contigent isn't new (on DU or in the real world).

They are without hope, without any sense of community unless it's their way.

It's just a shame that they've sort of taken over the boards lately.

:toast:

4. I saw a post by someone
who was always quite reasonalble but lately the drama has been ratcheted up to "We will March with the teabaggers!!". The Health Care Reform has taken more than a few peeps round the bend.

And, then there're those who always had a hate on and are wallowing in it now that Pres Obama seems vulnerable..but it will pass.

And, yeah, lots don't care..they could whine more with the repukes in power..although I don't know how it's possible.

5. I have NEVER seen so many Dems turn on a Dem Prez as fast
as I've seeing them do it now. It just makes me sick. Any post that is even slightly positive toward Obama is automatically unrec'd. Any post that slams him gets multiple rec's. It pisses me off to no end. They think Obama is being lazy and they think that someone else could do a better job with the Republicans and the DINO Dems.

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

yet their "solution" to not getting the bill they want is to challenge Obama in 2012?

7. That seems to be their solution to everything.
I decided to avoid GD and GDP, unless someone I trust posts something there like NanceGreggs.

Otherwise, they can have their Hatriot feeding frenzy.

I want nothing to do with it.

8. It is a whole bag of insanity. Kucinich 2012 for 3% of the electorate!!
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 09:32 AM by CBR
Edited to add: Actually DK and Dean (I like both by the way but their potential election is not realistic IMO) might split the left and, thus, we will have "real" leftists trying to lay their claim to purity.

11. All they do by that is
out their username to be fubar. As they're sitting there on their ass trying to prop up their backbone.

They don't know how to have civil discourse so they resort to idiocy.

How's "We Will March With The Teabaggers!!" That's hysteria and needs to be ignored.

12. They're whining about being called "leftbaggers" now because it offends
their delicate sensibilities.

Maybe they should think about that the next time they start hurling around insults like "brainwashed cheerleader" or "pom-pom waver".

14. Sometimes I think I'm one of the only ones who voted for Obama because I trusted him.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt--I wasn't with Bush because he was a slimy, lying warmonger.

Sure, it disappoints me when I hear about things like Patriot Act provisions being extended. I wish he'd act sooner on DOMA and DADT, and I wish he'd be better about the whole transparent government thing--after all, that is what pulled a lot of voters to his banner.

But if I went back and tried to find a President who fulfilled every single one of his campaign promises, you know who I'd have to go back to?

James Polk, 1845-1849. He had four--bring Texas into the Union, acquire California from Mexico, lower the tariff on imported goods, and resolve the Oregon dispute.

He did all four in four years and didn't run for a second term.

It's just here at DU all the bitter sore losers from last year have come back under various guises to spew their eternal
Obama hatred after their pathetic websites were closed down earlier this year.

I've been here since 2003 and Kucinich supporters were never this organized nor were they ever so hateful. Only one
group has ever fit this bill and we all know who they are. Treat 'em accordingly.

16. I hope it will pass

Most people in the real world don't think constantly about politics. I always go to my Dad because he is a hard-core union Democrat that has been watching politics for more years than he would want me to say and he said he feels this will pass, that what it really did was highlight the Democrats in the Senate that are bought and paid for like Republicans.

The media is another problem altogether, but they may well be more obsessed with Tiger Woods than anything meaningful, which might not be bad. The media is like an animal on the hunt that will take any trail it is given.

I don't think much of a lot of people on DU right now though, and this is an education for me, just because someone says they are a "liberal" doesn't automatically mean they can think much better than a Republican, or are any less selfish when it comes to sacrifice for the over-all good of the country. The raging, childish mentality of the "leftbaggers" here is strikingly similar to the Republicans. I believe insane outrage like this is a media creation and often people play their assigned parts without batting an eye. Scary.

20. I trust Obama too, as far as I can trust politicians
so it's been enlightening to see that people really, really, really believe every single thing a presidential candidate says during campaigning, and that the sincerest of them - Obama IMO - can bring about sweeping change and dismantle dreadfully complicated messes in less than a year.

My favorite is this comparing of how FDR - who had 3 terms - did such wonders during his administration(singluar) - oh, yeah, lets leave out Republicans/conservatives and the media as we now know them.

lovers then haters then lovers. I thought he was persona non grata among them. But now, the fix this bill and how to do so that he also called for - I think most of us agree with - is ignored. At this point, they're just  to me.

26. Your posts here have been FANNNNtastic!
And I'm talking about on DU, not just here in this group.

Another poster made a similar comment. Said that they thought all of the Howard Dean avatars and "We love Howard!" stuff was just so very, very, TERRIBLY interesting considering that when they were Deaniacs and supporting him over Kerry, the folks here couldn't hate on him hard or fast enough. This person had a few other Deaniacs agree with their post. They were also "surprised" at the sudden appearance of "Howard is the man!!one!" posts here on DU.

If the corpse of Genghis Khan were to come alive and spout how disappointed he was in Obama, many on this site would eat it up with a spoon and then comment on how Genghis was just "misunderstood."

Demanding that we quit pointing out that a Republican President would not do anything they want and would work for the opposite. Reality is not for them, I guess.

24. FDR said "I agree with you--make me do it."
He also had around 70 Democrats and a media that was nowhere NEAR the size and scope of what it is today.

No. Their motto is "WHY ISN'T HE DOING EVERYTHING AT ONCE I THOUGHT HE WAS SOME SORT OF SWISS ARMY PRESIDENT I HAVE BEEN LIED TO KUCINICH 2012".

and he flipped today. Suddenly it's Rahm's fault. Rahm had to threaten him because Dean understands. He has integrity. The Howard Dean speaks for me crap. I got an email saying, "HD speaks for me and you" I clicked unsubscribe. And DK, I had forgotten all about him. All I'll ever remember is he voted against the House bill.
