How many here have recommended this group to other members we know are supportive?

Hi everyone,

I just had an email exchange with another member, a famous supporter, who didn't know this sub-board was here.

I have 14 names on my buddy list and many more with whom I've had PM exchanges who I think would love to come here for a break.

1. I'm glad I clicked in here.

I logged in today and saw a thread encouraging Kucinich/Grayson in 2012. The divisive figures on this board are ridiculous. Does anybody in their right mind think the majority of the country would vote those two in office in place of Obama? Dumb, just dumb.

A lot of them are long time DUers and seem to have a sense of superiority and entitlement.

I'm hoping the administrators of this site have plans to deal with the hatred.

I know, for example, that Skinner is a Hillary Clinton fan.

You can't be a Hillary fan AND put up with some of this bullshit for very long, and it's going to get worse as we run up to next November.

I'm worried about the comments by some great people that they might leave.

I won't I like too many people here (unless they leave) and the site features and interface are second to none.

I might have to start using the ignore and hide-thread functions, stay out of GD and GDP for periods, and just ride out the storm.

this will probably get zapped but there is a clinton supporting mod that has no problem locking a positive Obama post that gets hijacked, and even posted their own Obama is WORSE than bush thread. I think staying out of GD and GDP is the best possible move.

6. I misspoke in my OP. I have 14 who earned my ignore list, dozens are buddies.

The ignores have well earned it. I don't ignore them, I've just set the controls to block PMs and it's an easy way of keeping track of the worst offenders.

Can't believe they're still around. :eyes:

Anyway, my buddy list has 78 names.

A few of them I would not invite here, I should probably remove them, but I think more and more of us are needing a break.

but my Ignore list is stocked to the brim.

It's always good to take a break from anything..I just come here to find out what the latest is on Obama's progress:)

Never was into politics during a Dem admin and this one is especially interesting to me.

after all unless you have a PM you can reply to or you can find one of their posts, there is no easy way to send a person a PM.

I didn't even follow politics very closely until this election! I would like to discuss what the hell is going on in this country, not trade barbs with nuts! I decided to keep myself here and in AAIG...I cannot relate to anything else.

and have learned so much on DU but before I put a whole slew of posters on Ignore last week I was too distracted by cheap shots against the President whom I support(YES I DO!)

I didn't know about this forum either. Of course I don't tend to stray far beyond GD/GD-P...but lately, DU has become almost unrecognizable.

NJmaverick and I thank you kindly! I did know about this forum but had kind of forgotten about it. Truthfully, I've not been in GD much at all lately. Just too vitriolic. (I'm not spell checking that, so here's hoping I guessed right!)

I believe in Obama. That's it, that's all. I just do. I believe he wants to do what's right for the country to the best of his ability. When he was elected, I thought we were on our way to "fixing" the country. I had NO idea the repubs would be so mean and hateful. When the first big bill (stimulus?) was voted on and NOT ONE repub voted for it, I was astounded. I naively believed they would recognize the obvious mandate the election represented and do what was right. And so on, and on.

I spend most of my time in the Computer groups, and while I am on good terms with several people there, our paths don't cross in other forums very often, so I'm not real sure whether mentioning this group to them would be beneficial.
