What do you think history will record as Obama's greatest strength?

As charming and intelligent as he is I think that his greatest attribute is his persistence.

As a candidate he would let it slip a couple of times, "I am very persistent".

I think that is the quality that he values the most in himself.

When you think about all of the time that he spend as a community organizer and how much frustration there must have been you begin to understand tha once this guy gets his hands on something he will not let go.

I don't know when the health care bill will pass but he will not be rushed and he will not be cornered. He intends to face down all of the bull and persistently wear down the opponents. I don't think that those who are trying to inflame the situation understand that he is just not going to be 'worried' or 'scared' away.

He is going to persist until everyone understands the real issues.

Americans will eventually tire of the debate and they will go with the one that they trust the most, and right now Obama, Clintons and the Kennedys are the only national figures that people trust. The Republicans don't have anyone.

1. Patience in political matters has to be among the top characteristics.
And this goes hand in hand with perseverance.

2.  I like that about him too. He's relentless.
The repubs dohave someone, and it's a BIG someone too: the corporate collective media.

I knew they'd be pains in the arse when they came out to announce they'd "be more vigilant" in reporting on the WH.

Yeah, after eight years of being awol during a REPUB'S reign, they now suddenly found their right to be our fourth estate?? LOL

3. I think one of the things he will be remembered for is his ability
in diplomacy with the rest of the world. But the persistence you mentioned - I really think you are on to something there. He never gives up. He hangs on like a bulldog.

4. His vision, scope of intelligence,
and ability to bring people together except for those who are too blindly jealous to see what they're missing.

5. Yes, for me it's the vision thing.......
Understanding what he's got to go through to get to the goal.....
and realizes that no everyone is going to see where he is going,
till he gets there.

It must be hard governing a Country running on instant everything.

10. Part Instant Everything and Part Insane.
And we have this President who is using his experiences as an organizer to laser focus on bringing the world together.

Oh sure, they'll be rough times..like now, but that's his vision.

6. I think he comes across as very human, as just one of us.
I appreciate his calmness when all is going crazy. I wish I had that ability.

This is the quality needed right now, too. The no-drama thing. This country has gotten too overdramatic. Everything is treated as if it were of earth shattering importance. One clause in a bill which is still going through the sausage grinder and DU has posters declaring the end of the world.
