Maybe we should take the high road
on the Main Boards.

I know I am guilty of going into battle when I see such racist remarks on the main boards.

However ~ if we start posting there and responding "like Barack" would want us to post, that would demonstrate our willingness for Change.

Just a thought, what do you think.

Perhaps we could have a code that would start our postd like:

CHANGE means.....

**** The main boards would fall out for dead if they saw me change up on them like that but I am willing to do it for OBAMA --- :patriot:

1. I try to.
I try to just follow the DU rules:

3. Civility: Treat other members with respect. Do not post personal attacks against other members of this discussion forum.

4. Content: Do not post messages that are inflammatory, extreme, divisive, incoherent, or otherwise inappropriate. Do not engage in anti-social, disruptive, or trolling behavior. Do not post broad-brush, bigoted statements. The moderators and administrators work very hard to enforce some minimal standards regarding what content is appropriate. But please remember that this is a large and diverse community that includes a broad range of opinion. People who are easily offended, or who are not accustomed to having their opinions (including deeply personal convictions) challenged may not feel entirely comfortable here. A thick skin is necessary to participate on this or any other discussion forum.

I'm going to start alerting on violators when I see them, too. And maybe quote the rules to them sometimes. If we all work on this, maybe we can clean this cesspool up. There are plenty of people out there who would heartily agree!

2. I might have to take another break from the main board.
Every time I go there, I have this sudden urge to tell Hillary supporters to "go to hell". I have to stop myself from writing those posts.

8. a lot of times when I type something like that
I look at it and then just delete it and don't hit the "post message" button. It just gives them a kick I think and adds fuel to their fire (or whatever that saying is).

4. I think a lot of Obama supporters have taken a break from the main board
on GD-politics it seems overrun by negative comments by Hillary supporters. I really don't care anymore because life is too short--it's not like posting on DU is going to win or lose the nomination.

5. I agree
I use to go to DU first in the morning when I got online and to tell the truth this is the last blog now and I look at GD-P and everyday for some dumb reason hope it will get better. I guess I am the hopeful kind so part of reason Obama is for me.

then I look here and read a few things and when Keith is on sometimes go into that group.

Now I check other news places that aren't fighting like here. It makes my day negative and I get all stirred up if I hang on GD-P for more than a few min. Just reading the titles makes me not want to be here.

I feel like this really great blogging place has been taken over by peoples anger side. I came in 2004 in the early spring and there was a lot for Dean, Edwards, Clarke, Kucinich then but I don't remember it ever being like this to the point where you can't even talk about what you believe in.

What I liked about this blog in the beginning was it was a place to be able to state how you feel and it was okay to be different, we didn't all have to be the same, no personal attacks. It is so angry now and at a time when I retired to the mountains 3 yrs ago to get peace. Thats why I stay here less and less.
