2. Great job Lisa. Thanks for updating here. (I know I wouldn't think to check state forums too.)

4. Will do!
I plan on participating as much as I can. I actually live about 40 miles south of Houston, so I am hoping they will have plans for my county as well, which has been a pretty consistently Democratic county and has sizable African American population as well. This should be a very exciting time for us down here, and I definitely want to be part of it :)

Part of me keeps wishing for Obama to score a huge win and end the suspense, but the other part of me is completely psyched about the race still going on when it gets here to Texas! I'm so conflicted! LOL

5. Um...Lisa...you're talking to a person who reads a book from back to front...so
I'll know how it ends.

In this case, I'd like to know the ending without going through all the middle, ok?!!!

11. Hard to say so far...
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 12:26 AM by Lisa0825
on the DU Texas forum, I know a few folks who are hardcore Hillary supporters... they just *love* the DLC :puke:

Up until 6 months ago, I didn't know anyone who thought Hillary would have a chance. It was like overnight someone flipped a switch and suddenly she had a following. It really makes me wonder what the heck goes on in this state behind the scenes. But then again, that is how it seemed to me here at DU too. I knew NO ONE who claimed to want her to run, and then suddenly when she announced, it was like she had this vocal devoted following.

MOST people I know do not like Hillary. My best friend, who in past years has said to me "Tell me who to vote for. I know you are much more involved than me and you and I agree on all the issues, so whoever you support, I'll vote for," well SHE has decided she likes Hillary, but can't really articulate why :eyes: However, she says she is the only one she knows who likes Hillary, so that is a good sign.

Ii went jogging in my Obama shirts today and yesterday and got lots of honks, waves, and thumbs up!

7. You've got a good bunch of organizers there.
I believe that the crew that was in Savannah were heading to Houston. Tell Teddy, Ashley, and the others responsible for the Savannah numbers (78%-21% over Hillary), that Dave says "HI".

It is looking like Houston will have a HUGE and energetic group of volunteers, so I am sure the crew will be kept very busy!

8. I was told you need sings, etc there
And that people in other parts of the country who have already had their caucuses and primaries should send lawns signs and such to you folks in TX to use for the March 4th primary.

True?

9. YES!
They didn't have many yard signs, and ran out of them quickly. They said they might have some more in a week or so, but they will probably go fast. They did have rally signs, but I think they also sold out of those before the end. Those are not as hard to come by though.

Someone posted a link earlier for a site to recycle signs from states which had already had their primaries...
