Has anyone else noticed a huge uptick in the number of "Recovery Act" signs?
I saw one once last year. This year on the route I run between NW Indiana and Chicago, there are several. All around the Chicagoland area I seem to be seeing them more and more.
The signs I'm talking about say "This project sponsored by the American Recovery and Renewal Act" or something like that.
Last year the Republicans here tried to get those signs taken down, saying they were political in nature, meaning pro-Obama recovery. I was very happy to see the signs back up this year as improvements continue on this stretch of highway.
They want the Recovery Act signs taken down, but had no problem with Bushco secretly paying journalists and creating fake infomercials to spread pro-Bushco propaganda.
3. And heaven forbid people see concrete (no pun intended) examples
of how their tax dollars are being spent and how a particular program is benefiting the state - if it's from a Dem administration, that is. But all bullshit propaganda from the Repubs is just fine and dandy.
8. People underestimate the amount of planning that needs to happen for these projects.
Some were pre-planned but shelved due to money. Those were the projects that got done first. The ones trickling in now were known needs, but did not have the engineering or other plans in place to just go out and do it.
