"Arizona congressman Grijalva's offices to close because of death threats "
<snip>

"One man called the congressman's Tucson office twice and said he would "blow everyone's brains out," spokesman Adam Sarvana told The Hill."

The threats come amid a heated debate over a controversial immigration law approved by the Arizona Legislature this week. The measure would allow Arizona state police to check the documents of people they suspect are illegal immigrants.

Opponents of the bill, who include Grijalva, say that the bill is discriminatory.

President Barack Obama criticized the bill Friday morning at a naturalization ceremony for American military service members as his administration has been pressured to act on federal immigration reform."

"Grijalva to Obama: Don't help AZ. on immigration"

"U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva, D-Ariz., responded to Gov. Jan Brewer's decision Friday to sign Arizona's tough immigration bill by asking President Barack Obama to limit federal cooperation with state officials on the topic.

"(The legislation) would exacerbate the problem of racial profiling . . . and would continue to compromise the civil rights of citizens, legal residents, tourists and foreign visitors,” Grijalva says in his letter.

Grijalva's letter asks Obama to halt future agreements between the Department of Homeland Security and Arizona law-enforcement officials with regard to immigration enforcement.

"This law will put every policeman in the state on notice that their main duty from now on is to question Hispanics about their citizenship,” Grijalva said. “This is a discriminatory policy that cannot be enforced without committing grave breaches of due process and equal protection. The law will not withstand legal scrutiny, and I call on the president immediately to reject it in the strongest possible terms.”

Arizona's lawmakers are getting a real bad reputaton and they will have to be held accountable for their actions.

1. And yet, the governor of the state remains silent on this consequence of her actions.
Despicable, despicable, despicable.
