Here is the common discussion cycle when you try to explain why we should support HCR
with diehard opponents.

First they don't know what is in the plan and just pass on misinformation.

Then when corrected they want to see where in the legislation it really says that tens of millions of people will get a benefit.

When you quote the Managers Ammendment summary tThen they want to know if the guy in Walmart is going to get it.

Then when they are shown the CBO statistics that show a lot of people are going to get it but can't discern if Bill down at Walmart gets it they want to know how does CBO do its projections as if they want to do a peer review analysis of CBO's methodology.

CBO gets it directly from the wizards in the Adromeda Galaxy.

Actually CBO's methodology is based on the best peer review statistical modeling that is based on the latest economic research, much of this type of economic modeling has earned numbers Nobel prizes for Economics. I can't tell you how a car works, I just know how to drive it.

I know I know how does the Nobel committee select its prize winners for Economics.

1. One can't win an arguement with a true believer.
However, as I mentioned in another thread here in the BOG, there is an audience who follow the debates here and one may be able to convince some of them who haven't firmly made up their minds on the subject.

6. That is how I approach each of my posts......
it's not about the poster I may be responding to, it's about the lurkers that will perhaps view any given thread. Even when I post an OP, I don't look at the recommendation count especially since I have an unrec'ing crew that show up to my thread in about a mminute every time these days, but I look at the views, and even my zero rec'ed threads oftentimes will have like at least 1,500 Views!

7. Many of those 1,500 viewers would just love to post back to
you something positive and meaningful but they are afraid they will have to go to battle.

It should not be that way but it is --

3. Yeap! Indeed. They continue to spread misinformation on the topic unabated
and people lap it right up. Pretty disgusting.

4. I'm learning that many don't really know how Medicare works, and other things.
None of the detractors can post a cogent argument or link to reliable sources of information.

All I see is misinformation or innuendo or third party theories.

Thanks, grantcart.

I rely upon folks like yourself and ProSense for reliable data.
