I learned something today: Never insult Hugo Chavez.
He and Kucinich are the patron saints of GD.

1. I have to admit I rather liked Chavez
when he was fighting off Bush and before he started seizing property without paying for it.

3. Well, I made the mistake
of calling him a tin-pot dictator.

The sparks fucking FLEW from the Angry Brigade for that one, boy.

6. I think it's commedy

There's essentially only one person who goes apeshit over Chavez. How can anybody seriously defend what he says anyway? It's clear that he just says provocative things that are popular in his region - I think of him as more of a court jester not to be taken seriously.

7. I agree with Chavez sometimes and disagree others but the
obsession with him as some kind of MLK figure is nauseating.

8. Funny seeing justifications of unilaterally shutting down radio stations and racist remarks

...using propaganda that nobody cares to provide one iota of proof about. It's pretty pathetic.

11. DU is close to amusing on that subject
Naturally we loved him when he was going after Bush. In those days, we did not realize that there was a left so far left they couldn't be happy with victory. It isn't a surprise, I guess, that Chavez fits that group.

12. Seriously.
Now Jane Hamsher is calling for Lynn Woolsey to step down as chair of the CPC because *gasp* she dared to sit down with the President and make a deal on health care for the sake of getting something good done.

There's a contingent of so-called "progressives" who would rather sleep on a warm bed of "principles" rather than compromise at ALL in the name of getting good legislation passed.

14. And, yet..
I don't even think they have any principles other than Grandstanding. Is that a principle?

15. And the beauty of it all is that their principles can never be
realized in this lifetime, so they will always have that warm bed to retreat to!

13. As usual you zero in on it, treestar..
I feel sorry for them that they can't move to Venezuela and support chavez from there since they hate our President Obama so much.

He's not chavez..thankfully!
