My son's team just won the high school state curling championship
last night. He has a Nonverbal Learning Disorder and curling is what got him through high school, he (cross my fingers)graduates this June. He had some tough times because of his social skill deficits but over all it was what got him to this point in high school. Curling attracts really outstanding kids and my son's coach is a wonderful person who did all the right things over the last four years. Through all of my son's misunderstanding, school issues and occasional meltdowns the coach stood by him and got him through.

Next year my son with Asperger's is starting high school. He's been curling for two years and hope he enjoys he high school experience as well.

and this gives us real hope. Next month we will be signing our little guy up for
4-5 year olds soccer.

We are hoping he will enjoy participating in this sport. We, also, hope he will have an understanding coaching team.

2. Kids soccer is hilarious
Both of my boys did the youth soccer until it got too competitive. The little ones like your son tend to run after the ball in small herds - no clue as to defense or offense but it is too cute.

For my son's teams no score was kept and they rotated positions, the goalie position was very overwhelming to my son's - they both suffered meltdowns when the opposing team scored. It was hard to convince them it wasn't all their fault. My oldest in his second year missed a play(not goalie) due to flirting with a little blond girl from the opposing team. He's graduating this year and still likes the blond girls!

3. Congratulations,Goddess40.

You and your son must be very proud!

It's so great to hear when one of our kids gets recognition
and accolades for a job well done.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
