6. You folks remember that quote about "uneducated little twerps"?
He was referring to us, I can't exactly remember the context and I 'll be damned if I can find the quote. I'll go crazy today if I don't find it! I am going to have to make a provision run and I will find it.

9. Barbara Bush, who's shown herself to be unfeeling of others
and is more masculine-looking than her husband, has tried to manipulate the media for sympathy several times when junior was in trouble. When it looked as though Kerry was going to win the 2004 election, I remember her saying something like, "I don't think I can take it." Anyone remember that?

10. Hill & Knowlton
Google "Hill & Knowlton" and you'll get such info as:

>>When contemplating war, beware of babies in incubators | csmonitor.comThe first time we attacked Iraq, a story about babies in incubators played a key ... Sensing an opening, the Hill & Knowlton people jumped on the story. ...
www.csmonitor.com/2002/0906/p25s02-cogn.htm

>>Hill & Knowlton
History
One of the world’s five largest public relations firms, Hill & Knowlton was founded in 1927 by former journalist John W. Hill. During the Depression, Hill became partners with a banking client, Donald Knowlton. The two then began a partnership, but in 1934 Hill moved the headquarters to New York to serve as counsel to the American Iron and Steel Institute while Knowlton stayed in Cleveland, Ohio under the name Hill & Knowlton of Cleveland. As of August 2006, H&K has 71 offices in 40 countries, including 19 in the United States. Currently employing 1100 people, the firm provides both public relation and lobbying services to local, multinational and global clients, including the Enron Corporation and the International Olympic Committee. The firm was obtained by the WPP Group, one of the worlds leading communications service groups, which owns four of the largest PR firms, including Hill & Knowlton.

Significance
Today Hill & Knowlton plays a significant role due to its global reach and its ties to the US government. Hill & Knowlton has also developed close ties with many other governments around the world, including Australia, Kuwait, and Uganda, but the bulk of their efforts have mainly been directed towards handling public relations issues for conservative US administrations. Its reach and control over mass media allows the firm to have direct impact on world events, public policy, and shaping news stories; the firm has had particular success in marketing the 1990-91 Persian Gulf War and the 2003 invasion of Iraq to the American people.

14. Hadassah Lieberman worked at Hill & Knowlton
Hadassah has also worked for the lobbying company, APCO Associates, that had many pharmaceutical and healthcare corporations among its clients, as well as for major drug companies such as Pfizer. In March 2005, Hadassah was hired by Hill & Knowlton as "senior counselor" in the firm's "health care and pharmaceuticals practice." Hadassah's close relationship with pharmaceutical and healthcare corporations while her husband introduced legislation benefiting these exact companies has raised questions about improprieties and conflict of interest.

Always glad to share information.

edited to add following:

Also see her listing at http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Hadassah_Lieberman

She apparently no longer works there:

Hadassah Lieberman joined the Washington, D.C., office of Hill & Knowlton USA early last year as a "strategic counselor on health care policy and public health initiatives," according to a statement issued by the firm soon after she was hired.

The senator's wife, who had worked in communications and public affairs at two drug companies, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and Hoffman-La Roche, also was quoted in the statement as saying she was excited to work with other Hill & Knowlton officials "to counsel a terrific stable of clients toward the same goal."

Gerstein, asked exactly what she did for the company, responded that she had left the firm after working there for less than a year.

"She no longer works there," he said. "But she's never been a registered lobbyist, and in this case, the point is lost on Lamont supporters. Tom Swan threw it out there and then their supporters, especially on the blogs, keep repeating it."

How else would she become SENIOR COUNSELOR? (SARCASM)

We know how all that works for many Congresspeople but it still shocks when you hear info like this. Thanks

11. Ironic...
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 11:09 AM by TwoSparkles
It's ironic that Sr AND Jr both lied us into war with Iraq--and now Senior
has to bail out Junior.

Monkey see, monkey do. Junior was just following in daddy's footsteps. But
as usual, when Junior attempts anything, it turns to shit.

Junior tried to upstage his father--by going many steps further than
Sr. did. Problem was...Junior didn't know what the hell he was doing.

Today, we see the results of an ego battle between a dysfunctional, evil father
and his assclown "I'll-show-you-I-can-run-a-war better than you!" son.

Lovely. Just frickin lovely.

So nice to know that our taxpayer dollars fund a dysfunctional son's hell-bent
rebellion against his equally dysfunctional father. Most families settle deep-seated
dysfunction by screaming, throwing food at Thanksgiving or long period of silence.

Not the Bushes. They're playing out their toxic battles on the world's stage---as they
sacrifice our soldiers' lives, nearly a trillion dollars and our country's reputation.

Sick--these people are.

12. Anybody have the CBC report...
That showed all this evidence? It's not that I doubt the Bushes would do something of this nature, but I make a habit of not accepting things at face value. Just because they say it don't make it true so I'd like to see the evidence before accepting the summation.

16. It was awful to see
It seems obvious to me that Bush Sr is seeing his dynasty collapse before his eyes. As a Father myself, I understand his agony. The irony is that the smarter brother, Jeb is getting screwed by his older sibling.

But then again, look at how many people have died so these people could enjoy their position in society? Has the Bush family given the world anything to remotely balance their cost?

24. Okay, it was bullshit. But I supported that war and would again...
Countries simply cannot (in that "new world order") be allowed to invade and occupy another country. Iraq did this to Kuwait. It should not be and was not tolerated. Fuck the incubators, I couldn't give a shit. Don't forget, Bush Sr. stoped at the line drawn by the UN and was attacked by the neocons for doing so. But as the (formely saine) Powell once said "You break it you bought it."

Incidently, we are now the moral equivalent of what Iraq was then. I had hoped for so much more. I had at that moment truly hoped for a new beginning in which International Rule of Law was everywhere. His offspring had other ideas. In implementing those ideas the clock on civilization was rolled back 100 years.
