Dennis spoke to the United Auto Workers in Detroit. He told them he wanted to stop, "...the grass
growing in the parking lots of US factories". He laid out plans for developing new jobs that will
help us grow by using new forms of energy. Dennis told his audience that oil companies would not
be running his White House.

NBC un-plugs Kucinich from Presidential debate

Re-writes criteria to exclude candidate with ’dissenting’ positions

Less than 44 hours after NBC sent a congratulatory note and an invitation
to Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich to participate in the Jan. 15 Democratic
Presidential debate in Las Vegas, the network notified the campaign this
morning it was changing it announced criteria, rescinding its invitation,
and excluding Kucinich from the debate.

1. Great vid, thanks.
Let the people work, healthy and free. Bring the money back home, no needless wars.
Wind and solar are the future, why wait and get left behind?

Go Dennis! It's not too late, your message of peace and prosperity can break through the darkness.

2. I Liked Him...
Until he threw his supporters to the Obama camp. He lost me for good and all then.
Should have stayed neutral.
Obama would have.

3. He didn't do that. The AP reported that wrong!
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 08:57 AM by Breeze54
Kucinich was talking about Iowa ONLY and it was only a comment, not an order!!

The Desmoines Register refused to let him be in the debate!

11. He said his supporters should support Obama in Iowa.
Talked about it at length in A C Span interview.

It is very wrong that he wasn't allowed to debate.

Though not really very effective.

The whole idea was that if Kucinich threw support at Edwards it would indicate that he was giving up and his supporters would likely stay in Edwards camp. Throwing them at Obama. He could be fairly certain that they would return as Obama isn't as progressive.

When Obama would win Kucinich could claim that his supporters put him over the top and his camp would get some credit for it. It was a calculated risk that had two potential benefits.

1: It would put a hole in the "inevitability-undefeatable" Hillary machine and open the campaign up. Once voters saw that she could be defeated in a caucus, she would start hemorrhaging support.

2: It would win Dennis some much needed credibility in the race and at least let the commentators talk about him briefly.

Unfortunately he did not reckon that professional corporate pundits would invent their own reasons for Hillary's loss and continue to ignore Dennis. All of this would have been far more fiery had Dennis actually been included in the debates hosted by the damned conservative Des Moines Register.

This was Dennis at his most tactical thus far, but his tactics required that he get around the silence treatment that he has been bludgeoned with since he first announced. In fact the silence treatment was so profound that the media never acknowledged that he was the first person to announce his candidacy nor that he was the first person this election cycle to forward a universal health care plan. (in fact it allowed a number of other candidates to lie and state boldly that they had their plan first)

17. The caucus rules were , second ballot you vote for someone else or leave.
I were in Iowa, I'd gone home after the first ballot. After Edwards talked to Hillary off mike, about riding the debates of Kucinich; why the hell would Kucinich endorse Edwards with his pro war leadership in 2002 and Pro Nafta votes. We can argue tactics. But, still endorse Edwards who won't come out for Single Payer. What options were there.

5. Wise Up America, We May Have Only One Chance
to reclaim this Government and return it's power to the people. Kucinich is the real deal. You want REAL CHANGE? Then you'll want Kucinich...nobody else even comes close to his incredible understanding of what truly ails America, and nobody can touch his heartfelt desire to change it for the better.

6. Dennis Does Detroit!
If the people only knew his life story, his stance, his substance, they would vote for Dennis. He is the voice for peace, truth, justice, equality, jobs, healthcare, planet preservation. But those issues don't make money for the corporations and therefore the media blackout to silence the Kucinich message. The United States of Disney? If you don't like Mickey, Minnie or Goofy's platform, vote for Dennis, he is a menace to the system.

9. Put a Hitler mustache on Dennis, and you have the "yang to the ying" of Adolf.
I love Dennis, and in NO WAY do I compare him to Adolph Hitler's ruthless and demented destruction. Just that as I watched him, he resembled Adolph's enthusiasm, stature and voice...but HIS is for good, not evil.

Go Dennis!! America is NOT ready for you now, but give us four years of John Edwards, and we'll be ready!!

Don't be silent!
