The principal could had told the janitor to remove the signs. And it would be the janitor's job to remove them himself. And if the janitor told that "lady" to remove the signs then he is an idiot. If the principal wanted the signs removed but not by the janitor then the principal would had contacted the McCain campaign to remove them not the Romney campaign.

But if the signs were there because of it being the voting site it would probably be a violation of election board contract to remove the signs.

2. This sort of thing bugs the h*ll out of me.....

we first experienced it in our very "red" and fundy-wingnut community when we ran for local office. The fundy-wingnuts who are so very devoted to "family values" regularly pulled up our signs from other peoples' yards. Don't they realize that the cultural stuff like "I cannot tell a lie, I chopped down the cherry tree" and "Always be a gracious winner and a good loser" and "wait your turn in line" and "fair play" and "the Golden Rule" are part of what makes America what it WAS, and that dirty tricks in the political process subvert all those honorable things for which America STOOD??? Sheesh!

This is just the sort of foundational decay that ultimately leads to waterboarding and wars of choice.

3. In Indiana it is against the law to remove signs from another's yard

or from public or right of ways that they didn't place.

The only way for signs to be removed is either the property owner or the local government when it involves right of ways.
