1. So, what can be done about the Ass Emperor continually ignoring the law?

Short of impeachment, anything?

Maybe Leahy or Reid can make another meaningless angry statement...and then immediately apologize and or do nothing.

done anything about it thus far, infuriating though it may be.

5. I have an eerie feeling that Bush's approval numbers are going to go up to the 50%

level again, despite all of this kind of stuff. All of this stuff about signing statements and demolishing the Constitution by expanding executive powers to a near-totalitarian level is nothing new to those of us who pay attention.

HOWEVER, there has been an alarming trend lately in public opinion. It appears that Republican media spin machine has been very effective at propagating the egregious falsehood that "the surge is working." It seems like no level of economic warfare against the majority or level of corruption is enough to make a significant number of the public turn against the Republicans for good.

all this will have a damaging effect on all of us in the years to come, if we do not stop it now.
