1. DECEMBER 15 2007.COM
DECEMBER 15, 2007 is the date on which we can begin to take back our country. It is also the date in 1791 upon which our Bill of Rights took effect.

On December 15, 2007, Dennis Kucinich will attempt to shatter Ron Paul's recent $4.2 million single day fund raising record, and collect a mind-boggling $10 million in one day.

This can only happen with your help. The website is December152007.com. Spread the word! Money is what makes the media sit up and take notice. Without it you are a fringe candidate worthy of little respect or news coverage and no speaking time in the debates - if you are even invited to them. A candidate who can raise $10 million in a single day can no longer be ignored by the mainstream media.

Please go to December152007.com and pledge to contribute on December 15 by signing up on the email list. You must actually contribute on the 15th on Dennis Kucinich's official website; a reminder email will be sent on that day.

Please also promote this event in any way you possibly can. Put a sign over the freeway. Put a large sign on your vehicle and park it somewhere legal where a lot of traffic goes by. (I did, I move it twice a day to make sure someone doesn't try to get it towed). Call a friend, email family and friends....... Now is the time to take action, not just sit on the sidelines and carp.

And by all means put your money where your mouth is - as one bumper sticker on my pickup truck says, "Talk is cheap... Make a donation!"

2. Funny he should have picked December 15 as the date.
December 15 is not what you would call an auspicious date in Dennis Kucinich history.

3. What makes you question the date?
I don't know if Dennis picked the date or if someone in the campaign decided that the signing of the Bill of Rights was an event worthy of Dennis and the platform on which he stands. It has also been said that Dec 15th was the day the bank in Cleveland took action against Dennis for not bowing to the corporations and selling Muny Light. But unless I missed something that Weekly update didn't even mention giving the Kucinich campaign money. I'm going to even though the "pot I piss in and the window I throw it out" are lacking. Anything worth having requires some sacrifice and I've used my time, energy and money to support Dennis and will continue to do so.

4. Kucinich given thanks for keeping Muny Light
http://www.sunnews.com/news/1998/1217/acmunylight.htm

December 17, 1998

"...Kucinich, now the U.S. representative for the 10th District, consisting of the West Side of Cleveland and parts of the western suburbs, was honored Monday with a City Council resolution, thanking him for not selling the Cleveland Public Power plant. The plant, still expanding throughout the city, has since saved Clevelanders more than $300 million in payments, officials said.

Proclaiming himself at a loss for words, Kucinich on Monday thanked officials for the resolution, noting "how quiet" the atmosphere seemed at City Hall.

"It's kind of like the words of 'Silent Night' -- 'All is calm, all is bright.' Well, 20 years ago, it wasn't very quiet," he said, drawing a laugh from those who remembered those turbulent days.

On Dec. 15, 1978, with the city's bond rating in shambles, Kucinich refused demands to sell the light plant to help pay the city's debts. The Cleveland Trust Co. and five other banks refused to roll over $15 million in notes, and Cleveland became the first major American city since the Depression to slide into default.

Kucinich would lose his re-election bid the following year, and it would be 15 years before he again won elected office..."
