Description: "Protesters in the Occupy Wall Street movement are maintaining a growing campaign against corporate and political forces that they say are fueling economic inequality in America. Judy Woodruff examines who's involved in the protests and what they're seeking with WNYC Radio's Arun Venugopal and DNAinfo.com's Julie Shapiro." () This report began with a summary with protest footage then an interview.

As I noted earlier, the commercial broadcast networks and PBS have generally ignored OWS. (A correction, although NBC did a 1.5 minute story on OWS on Sept. 26, the first OWS coverage on a network was a 20-second brief on ABC on Sept. 25.) PBS NewsHour (one of whose sponsors is Bank of America) has covered OWS for the first time tonight.

In contrast to the networks:
- NBC led 5.5 minutes of coverage of the overturned murder conviction of Amanda Knox (part 1, part 2), a 30-second brief on the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray. OWS was the 5th topic of the program after stories about the Texas refinery explosion and . The OWS story was .
- Similarly, on Sunday's Nightly News (which preceded the Jets/Ravens Sunday night football game of the week) OWS was again a lower-priority topic but also with a 2-minute story about the Brooklyn Bridge arrests. That was 9 minutes into the broadcast after stories about the capture of a Taliban leader and Republican candidates.
- CBS: (full video on Youtube) led with an interview with Afghan war commander Maj. John Allen and went in depth about the Afghan war. Also had an investigative piece on what Atty. Gen. Holder knew about the ATF gunrunning scandal] but nothing on OWS. (Scott Pelley anchored from Afghanistan, and Bob Schieffer anchored from New York.)
- ABC: Led with 5.5 minutes of Amanda Knox, then ran an excerpt from an interview with President Obama, then had a 2-minute piece on OWS.

1. That was a good report...
...well worth watching. The interviewer was respectful and the guests were well-informed about the movement.

2. This PBS report is false.
Here is the video showing the police LEADING THE PROTESTORS HEADED TO AND ON THE PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY ONTO THE BRIDGE.

This is police misreporting of what happened. The police entered the street portion of the bridge first. Protestors on the walkway jumped down because they believed that the police wanted them on the street. Quite a few protestors have told the version of the story in which the police led the protestors to the street portion of the bridge.

3. Typical MSM buzz words to describe movement- "Motley, dis-organized, youthful...blah, blah, blah"
but other than that a decent report. at least they helped to solidify why there is no spokesperson or figurehead at these protests.
