2. It's the Economy, *stupid*
UPS and Fed X are also doing less business. This isn't just for USPS. What is there to deliver when 11 million jobs disappear?

However, what does it say about an industry that responds to lower volumes by cutting their PRIMARY reason for existence?
I'm losing money, so I'm going to CUT services? Insane.

5. People power v. greed power.
This is truly revolutionary, nonviolent and revolutionary. Every person in that crowd, every person chanting, is an integral part of the movement. And every leader and every person in the chorus is learning what it is to be part of a movement, to bring change together -- if only change in terms of making a sound as one soul.

The press does not know how to approach this, does not understand what is going on. But the fact is that every person who PARTICIPATES in that chorus (which is ever so like the chorus in a Greek drama) understands and is touched at his or her innermost core by every word that is said.

This is a much stronger, personal experience than watching a newscast or reading a blog. (Which is why people are encouraged to repeat certain statements in religious rites.)

While these demonstrations may not produce tangible results for quite a long time, seeds are being sown that will bring new growth, change and probably for the better across the country.

This is how real movements for change -- nonviolent revolutions -- begin.

As long as they stay nonviolent, and their inclusion of everyone in the chant will keep everyone nonviolent, they will succeed in starting their movement.

It is not important that the issues uniting and moving them are unclear at this point. The diversity is not due to division but rather to the fact that there are just so many issues on which they are united right now.

So far, I support this nonviolent revolution.

Those who are in that Square will have wonderful stories to tell their grandchildren. God bless them.

6. Deregulation of the postal service
will bring us crappy mail service analogous to the crappy airline service that was the result of Ronald Reagan's deregulation of the airline industry.

7. Good for them!
Pilots have shown up too in full uniform. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zokuga/6189448489/ I hope that some Fire and Police officers will decide to show up in uniform when they are off duty in support of the 9/11 first responders that are also at the protests. If the fat cat hedge fund babies didn't demand their tax breaks maybe Congress could have used some of that money to help pay for the health care needs of the first responders still suffering tem years later.
