9. I would rather request that secular humanists run the world...

that way the religious can't use Pol Pot and Stalin as examples. The secular humanist have a good slate of leaders and none, to my knowledge, have committed crimes against humanity, unlike many religious leaders and the two examples noted above. Secular humanist are as sub-group of atheists who believe in rational thought instead of superstition, therefore making religion and outdated and bad idea.

Actually they really weren't atheists. They wanted to replace the worship of god with the woship of the state incarnated in their own being. Atheism doesn't go in for infallability quite so much.

That actually doesn't work.

Stalin actually didn't eliminate religion, nor were his purges religious in nature. He consciously and deliberately replaced Russian orthodox clergy that went on preaching. He actually attempted to revive the orthodox church in order to increase nationalism and his own power. I would like you to find a quote where Stalin directly states that he personally is an atheist.


As to Pol Pot:

Prince Norodom Sihanouk said, "Pol Pot does not believe in God but he thinks that heaven, destiny, wants him to guide Cambodia in the way he thinks it the best for Cambodia, that is to say, the worst. Pol Pot is mad, you know, like Hitler."

Additionally Pol Pot killed teachers, intellectuals, professors, and doctors. Truly the stuff of Atheism is to kill those most likely to be atheists.


I can tell that someone must have used the 'no true scottsman' fallacy on you, but to try to bounce it back you really need to have the people involved at least have to have these people claiming to be an atheist in their words. That would be the point of that fallacy.
