2. I have trouble finding anyone on the planet
who makes as much clear sense as Chomsky. He is a gem of a human being. A great credit to us all.

4. Anarcho-syndicalist!
Well, Chomsky has not fully understood anarcho-primitivist critique of civilization. And his General Linguistics does not make much clear sense. Nobody is perfect, not even Chomsky - but that does not make him any less likable gem of a human being.

6. Isn't That Quote Being Anti-Regulation?
“The most effective way to restrict democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: kings and princes, priestly castes, military juntas, party dictatorships, or modern corporations.” -- Noam Chomsky

Doesn't that mean he is against regulatory bodies? Especially when those that hold such positions are cronies and former execs of massive corporations?

Also I know how to recommend but how to kick?

8. People are the government. That would make government regulation "the public arena."

9. You just kicked it...
...by replying.

Not sure about your comments about regulation. I don't think Chomsky is arguing there should be no government, rather he is arguing about the structure of private enterprise. Therefore IMO his suggestions do not imply he is against regulation.

10. In the age of expanding railroads, the development of labor-intensive
manufacturing and farming, the hierarchical system for managing companies and developing new products was necessary. Think Gould, Carnegie, Henry Ford and Rockefeller. Economic value was created when large numbers of people were marshaled into working teams like ants.

But things are changing.

As we move more deeply into the age in which new products are produced by technicians based on sophisticated information and ideas, new products and new systems will be developed more and more frequently by independent teams, some in garages or basements, some in university laboratories with relatively little capital.

We aren't there yet. The factories in the third world are still extremely hierarchical as are the service industries in the developed world.

But, taking an example of service industries, the internet is replacing a lot of retail stores, and while some of the internet outlets are big, hierarchical companies, a lot of them are individuals or networks of individuals providing products out of their homes in response to internet orders. I see these small entrepreneurs at the post office quite often. They provide individualized services and products.
