This is a story that most people do not know.

Tom Hanks narrates the epic story of the 9/11 boatlift that evacuated half a million people from the stricken piers and seawalls of Lower Manhattan.
An amazing video of the 9/11 disaster you may not be aware of.
The largest boat rescue in history. Bigger than Dunkirk in World War II where 350,000 soldiers were rescued by boat.

I thought everyone I knew should see this video...

3. This shows how powerful our people can be. All Bush and media wanted was fear.

They were all about destroying and dismantling not building and showing that we could rise with empowering cooperation. They still want to destroy our democracy despite of any phoney campaign talk you may hear from the right wing.

Let's not forget the awful fear that was thrust on us and the hatred for all Muslims. Remember how the flags came out and the support the troops stickers were a sign of patriotism. I had a flag decal that I had had on my front windshield right after WTC but when we bombed Afghanistan instead of binding with Interpol to get Bin Laden and the terrorist criminals I stuck it on upside down as it remained until Obama was elected.

This is who we are meant to be not the selfish small minded fools who are afraid to help those who need their help.

Now we are being convinced that making sure the uber wealthy making rococo profits are essential to those with minimum wage part time jobs and wall street gamblers, who actually make no additional jobs in the US, must never be questioned on ethics.

I believe in the resurrection of goodness,yet I am aware that we are capable of terrible cruelty. From the dark ages to Mao Tse-tung to McCarthyism to the greed and selfishness that is in our country now. It is all so ugly.
