Because everything's political man and I'm feeling a little nostalgic.

1. Oh, thanks so much for that...
Memory lane is flooding.
Things were so much nicer then.
There will never be another band like that one.

4. Well it wasn't ALL so nice...
but perhaps we were just more innocent and idealistic. Aw youth!

2. I was going to skip this. Then I decided to watch and listen. Now I'm glad I did
and it's a perfect spot to put everything to bed tonight and get up for work Sunday morning.

Yup, I'm lucky to have a good job I like, and I work Sundays.

3. Pretty sweet version...not very often Bob, Phil, Jerry, and Brent would
each take a vocal section in a single song. The Band's version was great though...I've always liked Rick Danko's unique vocals - I associate his voice with someone singing from another era - about the time of the Civil War, I think.

It always surprised me as to why Hopper didn't have a Dead tune on the soundtrack. Their music style, at that time, sync'd perfectly with Hopper's psychedelic cowboy character in the movie. I think "Jack Straw" or "I Know You Rider" would have been good choices...."He's Gone" would have been a better choice for the final scene, IMHO.

It would be kind of cool to mix your own custom soundtrack to this movie and see how different music would change the impact of the movie experience.

6. ooooo yeah, nice selections for an alternative version.

or put some tunes to recent news reels or things such as the Occupy Wall St. event. Would they still work?

The music back then really was a great soundtrack for life as it was... the good the bad the ugly.
And the song writers were awesome. Poets.
