2. His job is to protect his Wall St. buddies.
Someday we'll have politicians who protect the people FROM his Wall St. buddies.

3. Stupid question I'm sure, but...
it's Saturday! Why is blocking a street primarily related to trading an issue on a Saturday? Are they all still in there trading just like every other day, but the markets are "closed". Like I said, stupid, but truly don't understand why Bloomberg would care about a Saturday protest, I could see a weekday protest being a big issue, though I'd still disagree with him because this is all we have left to use to get our messages across.

5. I think they intend to stay after the weekend.
From what I understand, they started today and are meeting right now in NYC, the protestors, to outline their goals. They are calling it an 'assembly' where they take suggestions from everyone as to what the goal of this movement should be.

I saw in the crowds people with sleeping bags, so I think people are planning to sleep there tonight.

Reports are now saying the picked up on the NYPD radio that they are sending riot police.

It's dark in NYC now, and it looks like the crowds are still there.

But yes, it will be more effective to occupy it during the work week, which I think is the goal. It will get a lot more tense if that happens. Can't have anyone disrupting the Big Casino in the city.

8. I think they're trying to Ameri - CAN- ize that last sentence of yours.
I hope they are able to make that stand and draw more and more into it. I was thinking about the October 2011 thing, perhaps I'll head out sooner and help this movement with another warm body. We'll see how the weekend and week start go.

7. I were suppose to support their unions?
Let the cops go without a meal and get foreclosed on. Those guys haven't missed three squares a day their entire lives.

10. Give it a rest. You either side with the people or the bankers.
The people stood beside the cops in Wi. Why isn't that favor ever returned?
Cops are militaristic and when the revolution begins in earnest they will take
you down without batting an eye.

11. You are wrong, but that is besides the point
You support the UNION because that helps you... and when unrest comes not all police or military side with the other side.

Things are a tad more gray than the black and white there.

12. Until either one of us has lived through a revolution on
par with what is due, neither one of us can say for certain which way individuals
will sway. It is my opinion the police will be the last to join in any meaningful way
the peoples revolution because they will be needed to protect the possessions and
interests of the 1%-2% that our tax dollars pay them to protect.

14. The Wisconsin cops DID return the favor.
They stood with the protestors.

Only the State Patrol, headed by a Walker lackey, did anything remotely like following the will of the Administration.

15. State Police units were brought into existence at the start of the 20th century
to give the government a legal means to brutally crush worker protests.

17. NYPD is older than the early 20th century
just for exactness. State Patrol was not anywhere in this...

Companies still preferred both the Army and the Pinkertons.

22. Libertad Pizza
people have put thousands of dollars on our pizza tab. Bloomberg hasn't blocked a damn thing. There are 3 daily (Scheduled) protests and 3 daily Assemblies where we have open forum to solve the problems of being there and to determine what exactly we want from the occupation. it is direct democracy is action.. unfortunately it is a slow process. the basic underlying concept that pulls people to protest Wall St are many and All quite valid.

there is hours of live streaming video of the occupation/protest & assemblies here
