Rachel Maddow discusses the newest Pennsylvania Republican attempt to tip elections to their favor - change the way electoral votes are awarded.

This is the 3rd video in a row I've posted on this issue; but, this is a disaster for Democracy if not challenged.

1. Rendell says, "It violates the spirit if not the letter of one person one vote."

So does the Electoral College.

Certainly, LongTomH, the proposal is a disaster for democracy. On the other hand, the system the Republicans propose would be far more democratic than what we have now if there were no gerrymandering and if every state did it -- two very big if's. Do you think a constitutional amendment to require every state to work this way could get legs? This new system could be tough for Republicans to oppose once PA pugs have voted for it. But what am I thinking? Republicans would argue that it would be an infringement on states' rights.

Just now Democrats don't control enough state houses or state legislatures to respond in kind. I think a push for a Constitutional amendment would at least show how dirty the Republicans play.
