This is the speech that made famous the phrase "military industrial complex", but until now I had never watched the whole thing. Do yourself a favor and block out 15 minutes to watch it.

It is a potent speech touching on many issues, not just the MIC, and he bears almost no political resemblance to ANY of the current crop of GOP contenders for President.

About the only moments where I could see Teabaggers cheering might be those instances where Ike refers to the Soviets as atheists.
