- Capitalism at its finest......

"Democracy is a con game. It's a word that was invented to placate people. To make them accept a given institution. All institutions sing "we are free." The minute that you hear "freedom and democracy" watch out. Because in a truly free nation, no one has to tell you, you're free." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qlgzTlAvOo&feature=player_embedded">~Jacques Fresco

"The reality is that institutions of codified thought, societal influence, power, dogmas, corporations and governments -- each have a high propensity to engage in denial, dishonesty, and corruption to maintain self-preservation and self-perpetuation....The profit mechanism creates established orders which constitute the survival and wealth for a few groups of people. The fact is that no matter how socially beneficial new advents may be, they will be viewed in hostility if they threaten an established financially-driven institution. 3. Excellent. The working conditions here in the US in the 19th century
were unbelievable bad, and world trade with no enforcement of labor standards could mean that deadly working conditions return here.

4. The problem is very few ships go directly from their Western operator to the breakers
With the exception of lake freighters that don't really have a secondary market very few ships go directly from a western operator to the scrapper. And needless to say the Government of Liberia has taken an immense interest in this issue...
