1. Funny that Paul considers himself a republican, the party that did this. Maybe it is because he was
Against the Civil Rights act, and as an upstanding racist aligns himself with the party that more closely mathes that view

Ron Paul & Racist, there is tons of stuff to back it up. I suggest also looking at the various photos of him chumming about with other racists.

Ron Paul is a racist douchebag and that is only one of his many fucked up issues. Why there is continued support for him here is beyond me.

They are aware and do not care, instead they claim to not know or lie outright about it. I've posted the shit many times over and they always deny it in one way or another. Let them go find out for themselves if they really want to know, it is not hard to find.

51. Angry much? Want people to learn something, then you need to show them.
I won't vote for him because he's anti-choice, and for his economic policies. That said, I tend to agree with Libertarians on anti-war isolationism and social policies (legal drugs, prostitution, suicide, etc...) Sometimes they are on the right side of things, and if I have to work with racists and bigots to accomplish the right thing, then so be it, I'll drop the knife and pair up for the fight. Doesn't mean I don't forget.

You want to work with racists and bigots, you go ahead, good luck with that strategy. I'm certain that when it is your life they want to fuck with, they will change their ways. I prefer preventing them from getting into or staying in office.

oh... I am not angry, I am just a fucking foul mouthed liberal.

At least he's got our Foreign Policy right. He opposed them as a Republican too, the only one with the guts to do so during the Bush years. His domestic policies are another story, but on Foreign policy he is absolutely correct.

44. What is new is Wikileaks' verification that this is the truth.
The government vociferously denied that Gillespie had given any encouragement to Saddam.

We suspected she did encourage Saddam. It was rumored that she did. But the government always denied the suspicions and the rumors.

So now we know that the suspicions and rumors were true, and, SURPRISE, the government has lied to us all these years.

of our elected Democrats embrace this militarism.

Anyone that believes this nation to be a true democracy is sadly mistaken. On issue after issue the American people disagree with the actions of their government. And it is becoming clear that it doesn't matter what we want.

It is little wonder that then President G. H. W. Bush would pull this kind of subterfuge as he cut his teeth engaging in just these kinds of actions during his stint as C.I.A. chief but on a smaller scale.

I guess this is a kinder gentler sort of fascism.

Is that accurate?

35. True, but the people are paying attention, all over the world.
All these revelations confirming what many already knew or suspected, are diminishing the respect the US used to have overseas. Rightwingers' response to that is 'who the f**k cares what the rest of the world thinks'. I think if this keeps up without the criminals in this country being held accountable, they will find out soon enough why it matters.

After all, Saddam was one of our little puppets in the 70s and 80s.

We did nothing about his facist B'aath party. We actively supported his invasion on Iran. We didn't put up too much of a fuss when he gassed thousands of Kurds.

It wasn't until he invaded a country that we liked (and was oil rich) that we suddenly became righteous and all

This information has been around for awhile. It has fallen on deaf ears. The media didn't do anything then and they won't do anything about it now. No one cares in the mainstream - as far as the mainstream is concerned anyone questioning the US motives is a malcontent. There is no alternative to them. Orwell described our situation clearly. Double-think indeed.

36. It may have been around for a while, but lots of people still do not
know it. Just a few days ago eg, someone told me that we 'saved Kuwait from Iraq' and that that was a noble 'war'. When I tried to point out that it too was based on lies, the response was 'you don't know what you're talking about'. I'm glad to see it, among other things we knew but did not have confirmation of, finally confirmed beyond a doubt.

The more people learn how the government lies to them, the less likely they will be to support more of these murderous wars.

The alternative media will certainly cover it and care. We care. And we have to keep putting that kind of information out there so that the future generations (of enlightened people) are aware of it. I guess what I meant by no one was actually the mainstream media and the mainstream politicians.

And yes, we can help spread the truth, unless they silence those telling it. As they are trying to do with Jullian Assange ~

great service by finally explaining why Al-Qaeda attacked us starting in 1993 off and on until the big one of 9-11, 2001.

Why didn't they attack in 1977 or 1988?

Because US TROOPS WEREN'T OCCUPYING SAUDI ARABIA THEN.

This is what drove Al-Qaeda into suicidal-homicidal rage: our continued presence of occupying soldiers in the land of the two holies (Mecca and Medina) after we'd promised we'd leave.
