this is another video and the shameful continuation of censoring free speech.
It was very upsetting that the largest group in this crowd of protesters were Veterans. Veterans for Peace.

they even used the police horses to push a short blind woman. you can see here in the back with gray straight hair and she has the white cane.

As people were peacefully protesting outside the American Legion Convention in Minneapolis where President Obama was giving a speech, the Minneapolis Police suddenly declared the sidewalk area a "security risk" and then moved people to another "free speech zone" across the road using police on horse to push the crowd to the new area.

As an added bonus, some of us got our pictures taken by the cops!

Welcome the Police State of Minneapolis :-/

4. Somehow I read that headline to mean 'Obama visits free speech zone'... Oops
When is free speech not free speech?

When you are only allowed to speak to yourself in a dark room.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say will not be audible by thOse you are trying to address

6. Don't get me started on the MN gestapo state! I am now officially afraid
of the police here. Personality 'assessments", cameras, monitors, set-ups, strip searches including doing jumping jacks naked, et. al. We should be very afraid.

7. That cop never took pictures
He couldn't figure out how to work the thing. He was fumbling with it so much, I would be quite surprised if he got anything.

8. Only teabaggers
Only teabaggers get to protest in the brand new FSA (Fascist States Of America, replacing USA).

11. I noticed that.
Teabaggers didn't have to move to "free speech zones". They could even openly carry guns. Fascist States Of America is just about right.

9. A sometimes wise man once wrote...
meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp6-wG5LLqE

Was it the mayor that made this decision, Obama's security, the FBI, Homeland Security, who? I don't think Obama makes all the decision about security here, but he does have the final say, and this is getting more and more restrictive for each event. What good is free speech if you can't use it?

Peace,
Tex Shelters

12. You could see they were a security risk. They were thinking Americans exercising their rights.
Shit. You can't allow that.

Only the rich get free speech, because money is speech . . . or something.

17. The protesters should have started chanting "First Amendment!"
"Security reasons," yeah, right.

A bunch of unarmed people on the other side of a four-lane street are a "security risk."

23. This group looks about as dangerous as the cast of Mary Tyler Moore.
If you haven't taken time to watch the video in the OP, please do so. You will never see a less threatening group of protesters. These folks look like the cast from the Mary Tyler Moore show 40 years later. You know - Georgeanne, Ted, Mary, Murray & Rhoda? Gray haired veterans, little old ladies, etc.

Yup, it's really terrifying to see these folks daring to wave signs from all the way across an empty-of-traffic, 4 lane broad boulevard - supporting jobs and homes, opposing war spending. I mean, what sane person would ever run for public office if they had to see and listen to - - - gasp! - - -the public?
