There's another round of political bickering in Washington as the debt ceiling deadline approaches. The leader of the Republican party in the Senate has rushed to announce negotiations are close to reaching an agreement. But the Democrats quickly responded that a compromise is still far from certain. RT's Marina Portnaya reports from New York.

There was a plan in place and that plan said the deficit would be $0 by 2009. Not too long after that Bush came to office, and well, you know.

I wish there was more talk of the surplus and the projected deficit draw-down by the MSM. The citizens would be better informed, but is that their goal?
