I have looked at the WOD overall for a while now but have not kept up with cannabis as I should have.

2. there's no finer example of hypocrisy than the war on cannabis

here is one of the top researchers in the nation talking, years ago, about the medical uses of cannabis that have been demonstrated in studies that have been financed by our own govt.

...while this week we have yet another announcement from the top of the prison-industrial complex (aka federal govt) saying that cannabis has no medical usage - in this country. It's like they could also have been saying... yes, there is medical benefit but we are going to deny citizens in this country the right to that health care. That little qualifier made me wonder.

Rosenthal argues this is a violation of the 9th amendment to the constitution and current law is not constitutional because it interferes with health care for individuals to seek out for themselves.

Abrams also notes that it is only in the last 70 years that doctors have been forbidden to use cannabis as medicine in the U.S. and before this time it was legal - Rosenthal states that in order to get around the unconstitutional nature of this prohibition, the stamp act was a runaround to give certain factions in this nation what they wanted - a way to arrest and detain minorities or others they might want to target, a way to deny competition for certain industries in both health and manufacturing, and a way to create jobs for those who take delight in exercising unjust power over others.

I really started to pay attention to this issue and read up on the studies, etc. over the last three years.

I was and am stunned at the failure of this nation to do the right thing.

Obama's choice to head the DEA was under investigation b/c she saw no problem with using a witness who would gladly perjure himself to gain a conviction - so she's no stranger to the use of lies and, it seems, is carrying on with that same tactic.

She's also the ASSHOLE who tried to claim cannabis has no medical use when she was in CA. I don't know if she's just a money-grubbing suck up to power for political advancement or just too invested in lies to admit the truth. In either case, anything that comes out of her mouth should be treated as a lie b/c it probably is.
