I’m simply amazed -- yesterday, nearly 30,000 LCV supporters signed our petition to Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan calling him out for championing billions in taxpayer giveaways to Big Oil while he and his family profit from some of the same oil companies who benefit from those giveaways.

Now we’re hoping you’ll take the next step.

This week, LCV launched a hard-hitting ad exposing Congressman Ryan’s recent vote to give billions in taxpayer funded handouts to Big Oil and his family’s financial ties to the industry.

It’s a powerful ad that calls out Ryan for what appears to be a shocking conflict of interest. We must reach as many people in Wisconsin as possible and keeping it on the air will be expensive. That’s why we need your help today to fund this powerful ad.

Not only has Ryan voted to give Big Oil companies like ExxonMobil billions in government handouts, but he has also proposed a 2012 budget that also gives Big Oil billions in special tax breaks. And as the point person on the budget for the Republican House leadership, Ryan has significant sway and influence on the congressional budget process.

It’s absolutely appalling that Ryan continues to support massive taxpayer subsidies for some of the world’s most profitable companies while so many middle-class American families are hurting in this down economy. The fact that he’s benefiting from those giveaways is even more astounding – enough is enough!
