A Brief History of Clarence Thomas' Ethical Entanglements

The New York Times published a major report Saturday delving into the ethical questions posed by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his relationship with real estate magnate Harlan Crowe. These recent insinuations on Thomas' ethics are only the latest in a long list that have been leveled at him. It's not unusual for judges to have conflicts of interest, but, as Talking Points Memo put it, "when it comes to ethical complications on the nation's highest court, Clarence Thomas takes the cake." It's worth it to review recent events.

1. So how do we make sure this stays in the news?
That's important, that this not go away.

2. You can take this to the bank...Andrew Breitbart is, at this moment,
working 24/7 to dig up any dirt he can find on Rep. Chris Murphy. I hope this guy never ran a red light or anything, because Breitbart will find it and Dems will dutifully throw him under the bus.

3. Thomas and Alito at least, should have recused themselves from the Citizens United case.
The groups that supported Mrs. Thomas and had Sammy Alito at their fundraiser stood to benefit from the ridiculous ruling that Multinational Corporations had the same free speech rights as individual natural persons.

8. Thomas makes an obvious mockery of "justice."
Scalia (like Alito) has publicly done the same for years.

Hunting with Cheney just prior to hearing a court case against him? That was a public "fuck you" to every American citizen.

Thomas has not been as public (well, the MSM has not been as diligent) about his "fuck you's", but they are blatant. The SCOTUS must be cleaned out. President Obama does have the option (as a bluff if he wants) to "pack" the court, but he lacks the balls or the motivation, IMO.

6. Clarence is all about the swag.
He doesn't seem to strain his brain too much, just lets papa Scalia lead the dance.

7. It's nice to see the old gang together again. Olbermann, Schuster, Turley.
Next year, maybe Maddow.
