Republican Mark Amodei (who's trying to fill Nevada's 2nd Congressional District seat) made a questionable ad involving China, the debt ceiling and president Obama. Cenk Uygur explains.

Rep. Dean Heller left his NV-2 seat to replace the disgraced crook John Ensign in the US Senate. And Cenk argues that the Bush tax cuts and wars contributed majorly to the debt.

1. Nothing like a yellow/black/brown peril to take your mind off the real issues
Look! No, not here, over there! It's the RED CHINESE.

2. This is like the earlier Repub ad where the Chinese look back
on how the US went under because it forgot the principles (free market, etc) that made it great. If China was so impressed by our free-market capitalism, why did they not seek to emulate us then? Do they want to risk going under too?

But this impressed a lot of teabaggers.

3. Does anybody read Chinese?
I'd love to know what the captions and crawl actually say on that clown's commercial. I'd bet my left nut it has nothing to do with China conquering America. I'd be surprised if they even formed complete sentences.

4. The News Bit Is Indeed About Obama Raising the Debt Limit
Beyond that, I am not sure of the nuances. I doubt the voiceover is a direct translation of the original.

5. You know, I had assumed that they actually constructed that clip from scratch.
But why do that when you can just snatch a clip from a Chinese news program on Mhz? After all, they use people's music without permission all the time. Wouldn't it be a larf if somebody sued the Amodei campaign?

6. Too Bad That Righthaven Isn't Around to Buy the Suing Rights
I'm sure the Taiwanese would have been glad to oblige.

Oh, that's the other thing, though. This is not a mainland news report, which is what Amodei was insinuating. (It's why my girlfriend could get the subject but not the meaning.)
