When the US Supreme Court ruled that corporations could pour as much money into political campaigns as they can afford, they basically told politicians that, if they want to be elected, they have to cater to the big businesses who are financing campaigns. Research shows that in almost any election – from local level to federal – the candidate that spends the most money will almost always win. Corporate America knows this, and thanks to the Supreme Court, they know that they are in control. Mike Papantonio talks about this with David DeGraw, founder of the Amped Status blog.
