Organized labor is the only remaining check that the middle class has against the plutocratic elite. I'm not surprised they're pulling out all the stops to get rid of unions. They own both political parties to varying degrees, so the first strategy would obviously be to get the politicians they own to outlaw unions. In a few states that's already the case.

But if this doesn't work, we can look forward to financial elites bribing union leaders behind the scenes. Watch out for that.

with my boss about unions....MY post"Just made my bosses head explode" sorry don't know how to find
it again to link to it....How we enjoy benefits and working conditions thanks to union workers
striking for them in the past. The owner of our company treats us as if we have a union to avoid getting them in there. I didn't get fired but it was rocky there for a while. Speaking of unions

I used to have dialup and couldn't watch videos. Now, I have a blown sound card in my laptop, so watching a video that relies heavily on audio is a waste of time

21. basically they say that because the maid was unionized she was

not afraid to press charges because HER UNION BACKED HER! She felt the strength of numbers with her union, and how many critics of her "trust" dsk because he is rich and powerful and white and she is "just a maid" or is "african (code word for she is a ni**er)" but with her union backing her and telling her she will keep her job if she presses charges and that this lets a poor black maid press charges against one of the most powerful rich white men in the world.... that is what the video says basically.

It's all about the little guy against the powerful. Union busting is trying to legitimize bullying.

"commoners" have.

That is why the Elite is trying to destroy them.

If they are successful, we may as well lay down and become the foot mats they want and expect us to be.

I have been a Tn, resident for a year now. Here, the Unions are successfully kept out. While I have heart failure and I have paid in to SS since I was 12 (38 years), I am still fighting SS for my disability. Thank God my Union has kept me with good health insurance while I am on "temporary disability" through my Union. I have been on temporary disability for 5 years. I have to have Dr.'s fill out the forms, every 6 months.
I have been determined Permanently disabled by heart specialists from IU and Vanderbilt.
However, the SS "Dr." who has only "patients" from SS and barely speaks English, let alone have a receptionist or Nurse, says I can work....Well I can not understand him much, but SS translates for me. I would prefer to work. I apply daily. I think my (now) bad credit and (supposed to be confidential) health has a lot to do with not even getting an Interview....Of course my health problems would increase the premiums for the company that hired me.

America...Thank God for Unions.

Bitching, I know. Be thankful for what we have, including UNIONS.

This is an excellent video because it brings up a point I--and quite likely, many others--never even thought of. And I belong to a union!

I also like Erica's point at the end: that the French journalist who was attacked by DSK didn't feel she had enough resources to speak out, but now, because of a NY union, she can.

p.s. Question about Thom Hartmann: does he play on words regularly in his broadcasts? Example in this video. He took "allegedly" and put it at the end of the sentence and exaggerated his tone. Then he said "revolution" for "revelation." I don't watch TV, so I've not had the experience of watching him until now.

THIS is a wonderful example of how a Dem Party rep should advocate

for citizens -- specifically for workers, UNIONS, workers' rights!!

This is a fantastic young woman who has many interesting things to say

about this event -- clearly understanding it from the highest perspective --

i.e. --

that this was a $3,000 dollar a night hotel room and a very powerful man

vs a hotel worker and she makes cleaar that without union backing this woman

probably would not have been able to press charges.

Also that uniquely 75% of NYC hotel workers are unionized --

Many are documented immigrants - and sexual assault is underreported, generally.

And unions educate workers on their rights -- and what the appropriate procedure

would be in a case like this --

Unions level the playing field --


Ms Knuti also makes clear that sexual assault is about power and control, domination.

Basically the message to the abused is they are "not as human, not as credible, not

as worthy.

Also discussed was the value this support provides for others --

when one is able to stand up against abuse, it protects all workers, creating a

safer working environment for all --

Evidently, inspired by this example of standing up, a French journalist came out reporting

an attack she suffered?

We should be very proud of this young woman representing the Dem Party --
