Oooops. This is sticky and smelly.

Here's Jon Huntsman, in 2008, singing the praises of the shiny new renegade on the GOP ticket, Sarah Palin. Bet he wishes he could erase this little bit of history. (Hat tip to James Fallows at The Atlantic)

Probably not something he or his budding Presidential campaign would like to talk about, as he likes to wear the 'moderate' cloak, and until recently was Obama's U. S. ambassador to China.

So far, Huntsman has not declared his intent to run for the presidency. But even a casual inspection since January reveals just that.

What's more, he now has hired top former advisors from Rick Scott and Jeb Bush to join his campaign. And he is also setting up his national campaign headquarters in Orlando. Yep, sounds like he hasn't made up his mind. :eyes:

Rick Scott ace Susie Wiles joins Jon Huntsman in possible White House bid, January 27, 2011

Having successfully steered Rick Scott to the governor's mansion, Susie Wiles has set her eyes on the White House.

Wiles told the Times-Union Thursday night that she's signed on as the new executive director of a political action committee formed by supporters of former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. Huntsman, the current U.S. Ambassador to China, is rumored to be considering a run for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Wiles, a First Coast political veteran, previously served as an advisor Jacksonville mayors John Delaney and John Peyton. Wiles joins a team of political veterans, including John Weaver, a former advisor to U.S. Sen. John McCain.

Orlando Sentinel

May 18, 2011

TALLAHASSEE — Although he hasn't officially jumped into the race, potential Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman has decided to open his national headquarters in Orlando, his advisers confirmed Wednesday.

"This is not a Washington-based campaign and not a Washington-based candidate," said Susie Wiles, a Florida political consultant who ran Rick Scott's successful gubernatorial campaign.

The former Utah governor's exploratory committee also named Nikki Jerger Lowrey, a onetime aide to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, as its Florida director.

.....

Her 13 years in state politics and government includes work for Bush as his director of external affairs and also a post as deputy chief of staff for the Department of Homeland Security's FEMA office in the state.

Wiles said the decision to set up in Florida was made easier by the outsized role the state will play in the Republican primary, its earlier-than-tradition primary date and other geographic factors. The Republican nominating convention will be in Tampa, and Democrats have clearly signaled the state will play a major role in deciding the election by tapping U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston as chair of the Democratic National Committee.

"Florida made a lot of sense, and Orlando made sense within Florida," Wiles said.

A bit more background on Huntsman:

.....

Huntsman, 51, was a second-term governor of Utah when he was appointed U.S. Ambassador to China by President Barack Obama in August 2009. He announced in January he was resigning the post to explore a presidential bid and returned to the U.S. this month.

Huntsman is the son of millionaire businessman Jon Huntsman Sr., and is Mormon. His wife, Mary Kaye Huntsman, is from Orlando — the campaign said she was known as "Kaye Kaye" Cooper when she attended Cherokee Junior High, before moving to Utah — and has family in the region.

.....

And here's Mary Kaye.

Florida, get ready to be held hostage for the next year and a half of GOP infestation. Because our Governor, Legislature and Jeb Bush just aren't enough.

2. A lot of folks (like Ariana) are trying to frame Huntsman as some moderate, independent voice
Yet, here he is, toeing the party line and singing the praises of Sarah, the idiot and crackpot
so much for that ruse

5. Thank you. I really enjoy it here, with all the laughter our current group of...
Republican Presidential candidates gives us. They are such fools, such charlatans, such flaming self-centered con artists.

In earlier days, before radio, tv, and the internet, these guys would be selling only used cars or snake oil.
