As it readies for the debut of the Keith Olbermann show, Current TV is building a studio in Manhattan, says co-founder Joel Hyatt in this interview with Beet.TV.

Hyatt says that the studio will have additional uses beyond the Olbermann show, which will debut in "late Spring."

The San Francisco-based cable network has its primary broadcast studio in Los Angeles. Although Current maintains business operations in New York, this would be its first studio.

Beet TV caught up with Hyatt at the paidContent2011 conference in Manhattan for an overview of the role of Current as a news source and development of the company.

Hyatt and Olbermann were featured luncheon speakers, interviewed on stage by paidContent editor Staci D. Kramer.

3. I didn't know Joel Hyatt was a founder.
I'm from NE Ohio, and I remember him from his Cleveland law firm ads on TV back in the '80s. His tag line "I'm Joel Hyatt, and you have my word on it" still rings in my mind today (kind of like the Men's Warehouse guy who "guarantees" you'll look good). As I recall, he was very politically motivated even back then, and I think he's related to Howard Metzenbaum.

5. I miss Keith
I hope my cable company Charter gets this fastest growing cable news network in the last five years so I can watch Keith again.
