I was raised a Catholic, and it was OK to read the Catholic version of the Bible, but we weren't really encouraged to do so -- instead, it was for recording family births, deaths, and so on.

But the logical answer is that Cain and Abel had sisters with whom they practiced incest. ;-)

Of course, the real answer is that genetic Eve was not the only woman in existence, only the only one with FEMALE offspring who survived reproduce, at least in female lines that survived. Likewise, genetic Adam (100s of thousands of years unrelated to Eve) was the only man to have male offspring who so survived. But, then, this is as close to reality as science has gotten, so has nothing to do with the stupid buzz on the talk show.

3. Those of us who believe that humans evolved from a lower

form find the Adam and Eve saga ludicrous.
